Spreads such as Olive Tapenades are so mouthwatering you simply have to try them. You can make them at home by simply following our recipe below.
Ingredients for enough Olive Tapenade to serve to four people:
1 1/2 Juiced lemons
20 fresh basil leaves
1 1/2 cans of pitted black olives (for a little variety you can add a few deli style big green olives to enhance the flavor or add them around the final dish for garnish)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/3 teaspoon of coarse sea salt (this type of salt is very tasty. I use a grinder and grind it into usable everyday salt.)
Directions:
You can either use a food processor or chop the ingredients with a good knife and cutting block.
For ease of use we will make this recipe in the food processor. Place the Basil leaves and the lemon juice into the food processor and chop them up. Then add the olives leaving the processor on until the olives are in coarse pieces. Place the olive oil and the sea salt in last and mix everything until it is well mixed.
You can spoon the tapenade on your favorite sliced bread or crackers and top with some thin slices of cheese.
